Based in Consett, County Durham, Essential Interiors is a family-run business with more than 20 years of experience in kitchen and bedroom design and installation.
The company manufactures all of it’s cabinet furniture on site, combining high-quality materials with skilled craftsmanship to create bespoke interiors for homes across the North East and beyond.

Problem
When the PLC on Essential Interiors’ existing edgebander crashed, production ground to a halt at a critical time. With multiple urgent orders to fulfil, owner Neil Lowdon needed a fast, reliable solution.
ILEX Machinery demonstrated the Masterwood ME 509 Edgebander on site, which impressed the team with its simplicity and high-quality finish. The very next morning, ILEX Machinery delivered and installed the new machine, together with hot melt adhesive and panel cleaner to complete the setup.
Since then, the edgebander has become a key part of production.
